Can you please make it so the post edit doesn't show up unless there is a reply.

The edit feature is working as intended.

Well played, this is why we need to be able to see all revisions of a post.

You sir have not been playing close attention. Mods make edits all the time and leave no trace the post and or image was edited.

There's always a notification when a mod has edited another user's post. We can change the images sneakily though!

It is a very good thing you are not the mod with legal degree because the term There's always a notification does not match the 2nd sentence.

I thought it was obvious I was referring to text vs. images. Editing the post's text adds a notification, deleting/setting the image does not. Clearer, now?

A look at my UID should make it clear I am the very last person on MC to be picky about grammar. So I consulted Editing as described by the dictionary.

Editing is the process of selecting and preparing written, visual, audible, and film media used to convey information. The editing process can involve correction, condensation, organization, and many other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate and complete work.

Without doubt I am Dyslexic yet it seems to me your use of
> Clearer, now

Wood only satisfy my English Mentor Mark Twain yet not the Oxford Dictionary.

'Editing' in terms of TinyBBS/ATBBS/MiniBBS/etc. refers to directly editing a post (e.g. /edit_reply, /edit_topic), whereas the 'Set image' feature is separate, and simply changes the image. I was using that terminology. Thanks.

Of course you are free to mess with the English language as anyone is free to do and fuck it up as I do (does) Mark Twain wood be proud of you.

Wood be nice for US to be able to edit our own posted image to another image as I am able to do on TC.

Yeah, that's on the never-ending and basically-entirely-neglected-and-forgotten 'To Do' list, along with users being able to edit their name after posting.

Is that wise? I wouldn't give them the whole 9 minutes to do that at least.

If anything, it'd be 60 seconds at most, for simple mistakes and incidents where it ruins your anonymity etc. I don't think MiniBBS is going to see many features added any time soon, though. Maybe I'll add it when I have the inclination and time, along with 9001 other bits and bobs.

Perhaps you are not aware that code addition to your code is done - tested and in use by those who borrowed your code.

@889,777 (B)
Perhaps you have not noticed how often I end up using the edit feature - Has reduced my need to provide you with my decoder ring.

autphag taught me the value of reduced wall of text.

So was what I did to that post an edit? It was more correct, consistent, accurate and complete before I "edited" it.

"the dictionary" is the source of the quote, and this is the post in question: https://minichan.org/topic/75448#reply_889777

OK and honest I am or was not trying to be thick-skulled. Just seems to me that Ethics 101 demands that when a document is edited by an outside source aka Mod or Editor the document should show it was edited.
I have watched one mod fuck with an others posted image for the lulz. And I believe text has been edited and for sure headlines for the lulz without indication that a mod was at work.

By your dictionary definition it is only an edit if it makes it better, so The Board should only tell you about an edit when the text was improved. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to whip up a reverse Troll-Buster to determine if a post was improved or not.

> By your dictionary definition it is only an edit if it makes it better,

I am forced in my work on occasion to play Scientist - Not very good at that role.

There is nothing in the dictionary definition of Edit that describes Edit as a positive or negative result. Consider censorship for instance. No one is going to say a Censor aka Editor has improved the content. (Except those in lock step with Censorship)

Then I don't know where you got the quote in @889,767 (E) ... you said it was from the dictionary.

Anonymous E replied with this 1 week ago, 11 minutes later, 8 hours after the original post[^] [v] #889,851

@previous (B)
Yes and because English as a language is so fucked up - That is what you got

You are pointing out this flaw in the Dictionary description
> and many other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate and complete work.
> performed with an intention

That of course leaves out the Fake news producers and Bad Editors. The definition leaves no wiggle room for bad intentions or bad editors

Bad editors get so caught up in their own vision of the way that things should be, that they end up rewriting instead of...

I am in a rush work wise to look for more but the site that line came from is down for maintenance

I cannot be held responsible for the fucked up state English as a language is.
