You might as well be stopping your car by putting your feet through the floorboard, Fred Flintstone style.

Thanks.

Nascar breaks? Does that mean they only stop when turning left?

Also Matt you'll be pleased to know they're made in China.

yes but if you install the left side pads backwards you can hack them for right hand braking as well.

On the downside, the suspension bushings look to be shot. I've been feeling a clunk in the front end when I hit a large bump :(

Old Money does not, in fact, do one’s own auto repair.

i think it's actually about the passenger side airbag not deploying
also i've been fucked up by an airbag before not fun

You should leave it unfixed, then, to spare your passengers the indignity of being fucked up by an airbag.

So it's like a free version of Uber? I should get some friends and make them drive me!

Anyway it's been three days now and these cheap Chinese brake pads stop better than the original factory brakes. The original pads were worn down to like 1/16th of an inch. Not bad for 80,000 miles of stopping 4,200 lbs + 310lbs of lard. The rotors are still pretty thick so I left them on. The brake job was hard though because the old pads had rusted themselves to the calipers and I had to break them loose with a hammer (protip: don't drive through water).

I bought a yuge breaker bar from Harbor Freight and it makes removing and retightening lug nuts a lot easier. Well worth the $12.99.

The new air filter is the real improvement though. The old one was 12 years and 80,000 miles old. It was caked with dirt and leaves and shit. With the new one the car is definitely more powerful and I can hear the engine breathing better.

The driver's seat is creaking badly though :( I should look in a junkyard for a 1996-2011 REDACTED REDACTED driver's seat that doesn't sag with a huge Meta-sized impression in it.
