He hasn't even done a single World of Warcraft character backstory post yet. How can you say this?

if svet had a world of warcraft character he'd play a hunter. cause they're huntarded. his pet would be a Stranglethorn Vale Gorilla, because hunters have to feed the monkey on their back. and he'd be in aspect of the hawk constantly, cause he needs his "go-fast." fucking huntards.

and if the nightborn are ever made playable that would be his new main cause they're literally addicted to snorting ancient mana crystals otherwise they turn into jittery ambling manicas.

and would you look at that, the nightborne are a playable race in the next expansion. how about that, svet, you're a filthy horde. kek

I was a guild master and that was the moment the guild imploded so I lost interest.

you know, the lich king caused real damage. i've heard more people say they rage quit over that fight than any other reason, and so many guilds died instead of Arthas. a very real unintended consequence of making the game that difficult was that blizzard never recovered their player numbers. Wrath was the peak of everything, and since then it's never been the same. there will never be another raid as hard as icecrown, it was the last of the real raids.

The guild drama was long running. We had this Polish raid leader who everyone hated but he was amazing at organizing and running a raid, I was quite laid back and had officers run recuitment, websites and such. At one point we were the 3rd top guild on the server and 2nd for Horde but it got too much and at the hight of the credit crunch I moved to Spain for a year.

guild drama, like half the reason to play the game and half the reason to rage quit the game. i did backup raid lead through the tournament of champions and never wanted to do it again. soon after that i was our top DPS and got pulled onto the A-team and never led another raid, thankfully. i'm also pretty glad to have never been a GM of a guild, that seems like a lot of work. maybe the GM of the guild i was in back then just made it seem hard. but he was super wishy washy and didn't enforce any kind of rules or anything, raid progression wasn't his top priority, tbh, it was just everyone else's. so he didn't give a fuck and wouldn't ever let us organize legit progression and make people work for their spots.

we also never had more than 11 of us raiding, even if we'd have 20 sign up. there were always people who were no shows like every other week. it was a real problem, and we were always bringing in pugs which meant we were running lots of people's alts and they weren't practiced, geared or prepared for anything beyond the first wing. we'd get half the plague quarter and it'd be time to call it, cause we'd waste so much time trying to fill out the roster. late start meant we never got very far. and organizing progression over 2 different days we couldn't even get those original 11 all back for a second day. so we'd pug the last half with like 15 randoms and end up banging away at the professor for 2 hours getting nowhere.

progression wise we were in the top 5 once we finally downed sindragosa. very few guilds actually got even that far, we were beat by Greater Expectations (who'd moved to our server to grab up server firsts, they were a US top 10 ranked guild that year) and by another guild that was way bigger, but we got sindragosa 20 man 3rd.

i applied to GE and would've gotten in if they didn't already have more rogues then they needed, at the time i was one of the top rogues on our server and depending on the week and fight we were all trading places as highest DPS rogue on our server. i never did log anything higher than 3rd, but GE's rogues were significantly further along than me in the gear chase, they were already pulling heroic gear and i didn't have any, but, i was still not far behind them. i pulled very close to my theoretical DPS on spreadsheets, and if i had their gear i'm confident i would have been a contender.

and i did beat one of their druid DPS on the saurfang fight when he pugged into our group one week. that was one of the logs i submitted when i applied actually, so they could at least see that my damage profile is identical to theirs. consistency was all they cared about. anyway, that was in my prime. these days i prefer fishing over raiding.

props to what you accomplished, i couldn't imagine trying to raid and be gm at the same time.
