tbh if you know how to present someone with that information in context like that it would probably convince them you're indeed the hackerman. printing your own search history would probably look like doxing to them. legit shenanigans they wouldn't even recognize frankly. i used the command line to ping googles servers once and a girl thought i was doing something illegal, but then when i was using aircrack to sniff packets to try wep cracking she thought i was doing homework.

try feigning ignorance way more often around friends and family, and never let them know exactly how proficient you are. in fact i rarely get asked to do computer work by friends and family cause i end up changing settings on them when asked to fix stuff. sure i'll fix your computer, but you'll be stuck with yahoo toolbar and have to delete it yourself. something, kind of like a fingerprint, so that next time they think, "hey, i'll call squeegee, he'll come fix it," they'll also think, "oh yeah, every time he touches it i have to figure out how to resize all my icons again."

but if somebody can say, "they've got a degree in computers," then you're just kinda fucked and you'll be stuck fixing shit and convincing people you don't belong to an underground programming enclave called the White Rabbits just cause you use IRC

that's just because you live in Hicksville USA and anybody who can touch type is a scary hacker

now you have to shift the blame. most politician seem to get away with it. eg: youre accused, you proven your innocence, then you blame them for not trusting you. then you act like you forgive them too.
this actually happens quite often in everyday life tbh.

The only problem with that plan is, fixing my grandpa's computer already involves removing the yahoo toolbar and weatherbug.
