anyway, went to a cannabis store. fucking. wild. got some jolly rancher like candies and a couple of strains. one indica and one sativa. called bio-diesel and the other called king kush or something like that. both 30%-34% thc or whatever.
got an 8th of each. cost like 5 or 6 bucks a gram. the candies were like 20 bucks. pretty much it cost me 60% less than it costs in dallas for much lower quality shit.
it's better than disney land. they even sell honey oil and extracts. crazy.
skiing has been fun too. bout to head out to the ski village bar and have drinks with my new lady friend. we'll see where it leads. she's got a couple of little kids, but i got a private room. so.

holy. fuck. i'm so damn fatigued. we were damn near first on the mountain this morning. we ran a handfull of blacks in the am and then spent most of the day cruising the blues.
i haven't been to this mountain in 20 years, tbh things look much smaller than when i was a kid. some of the runs i remember being too terrifying i stood on top of, laughed, and then just shot down them.
traded in the skiis for a snowboard, tomorrow will just be a relaxing day. probably spend most of it at the warming hut relaxing and high af.

home. fuck. so tired. fuuuuck. but this might be the greatest dope i've ever smoked in my life, holy shit. but also this was one of the best times i've had on a mountain ski-wise. i got my legs back much faster than i thought. by day two i was running most anything i wanted. there are still quite a few runs i wouldn't attempt because i'm not stupid, but i enjoyed the bowls and some pretty technical blacks so i felt pretty good about it. wore me the fuck out though. tbh it's the hiking that got me, not the skiing, but by the time we got over to the drop in areas i was already pretty wiped.
did end up spending the last day mostly hanging out and just cruising a few blues, but i'm not much of a snowboarder. the freestyle park was pretty cool, that didn't exist the last time i was at crested butte, (actually the last time we were there snowboarding was relatively new and banned on most mountains, crested butte was one of the first to allow snowboarding and to have instructors teaching it, we were pretty young and we weren't allowed because of an age restriction.) but it was super crowded with spring breakers trying to make jumps. me and my brother met some locals and they took us out to the newest section and we just kinda chilled with them and got high and did the less crowded runs. they're steep as fuck so they were pretty much wide open.
we headed back last night, overnighted in new mexico, then made the long haul into dallas. unsurprisingly the entire route through new mexico and texas was just littered with speed traps and hiding cops. there was no problem heading up there, no one cared about the westbound traffic, we flew along at 90 most of the way and never hit a random (non town) speed trap but the way back had, just... uncountable numbers of 75mph down to 30mph speed traps that stretched 100 yards. we took turns piloting and copiloting the truck, both of us watching for the speed traps and cops and we used cruise control the entire way set to 3-5mph under the limit. lol. it added like an hour drive time, but it was worth it. we saw so many people pulled over and at the hotel in new mexico the cops pulled an eastbound driver over and searched the car... honestly, it was the only time in a very, very fucking long time that i've been nervous when riding dirty. i will not be doing that again. a single fucking slip up could have been life changing. bigly. on the way up there we were even thinking, "hey, i'm hardly seeing any cops or any reason to be afraid, no biggie." but we were fucking wrong. those eastbound routes out of colorado were under a fucking microscope.
i will be going back though. we're already planning a rafting trip this summer. my brother met this chick who works at the pot shop and she spends her summer in canyon city outside of monarch pass running people down the arkansas as a raft guide. she said with all the snowpack they got this year the river will run fast and strong. waves over your head, she said. i'm going to try and get together a january/february ski trip for next year too. spring skiing is fun cause the weather, but winter skiing is where it's at.
oh yeah, pictures. i'll post some. fucking beautiful. let me like take a nap though. i'm stoned af and tired as hell

i thought i got more pictures. it's fine though, everyone else took a fuck load. this picture of the peak was taken from the base area at the end of the third day and looks straight up the Silver Queen lift on the right. you can see a few of the expert level trails going straight down from the peak. those ones are above my skill level.

that's actually pretty much all i've got. i took a few pics on the way up and back, but this is the best of them. we pulled over to eat lunch and hike around the river a bit in the middle of monarch pass. fucking beautiful. the water is also super cold.

i got a lot of just bad shots apparently. this is the cannabis store. i decided to look like a hardcore tourist and asked to snap some pics. she said sure, and when i was taking it she posed and made a face and i laughed and moved. it basically looked like the inside of any headshop i've been to with all the paraphernalia, but with the weed in store it was like this is what a headshop is supposed to be.

the crazy extracts. so, like i just got some pot. that's enough of a risk for me, tbh, since i was carrying multiple bags. they could call that trafficking, so, even though i was under the limit for a felony in weight i was carrying felony quantity. state felony that is. state.
these extracts all carry extra federal punishment. possession of any of this is a straight up felony. a gram of wax or hash can get you prison time.
this trip i chose to get a bunch of edibles for the vacation since i've not really ever tried them out either. next time i'll get a gram of hash or something and try that. but i will not fucking try and travel with any. fuck that.
in fact, next time i'm not going to be an idiot and get 4 strains to "traffic" back to my house and instead just get one big fat full Oz of a single type and carry it all in one bag so i can misdemeanor possess. really i need to probably just not do that again. we kept the little marked baggies proving we bought them in colorado and crossed state lines. lol. probably really fucked up, actually. probably should have removed every marking so they couldn't pin a state of origin on us and call us interstate drug smugglers or something fucking outrageous.
well... something to have learned i guess. i'll know for next time.

yeah, i was shocked at the price. 60% cheaper for much higher quality. it's unreal. and you get a fancy stinky bag, zero sticks - every bit of it was just buds - and it was safe as fuck to go get. in a city i haven't been to in years and years. i didn't have to do anything shady or risky. everything about it was amazing.

idk, there's a law that allows for medicinal use for epilepsy in extreme cases where other drugs don't work. i heard there was maybe some kind of decriminalization effort, but there's always been a decriminalization effort. every session has seen bills get voted down. the texas state congress meets once every two years for just a few months, so i expect we're at least 2 years away from any kind of serious bill aimed at anything worthwhile. honestly i still expect to see texas legalize casinos before they legalize recreational use like Colorado. even for the economic boon. hopefully we'll see decriminalization or at the very least relaxed laws.

no more paranoia than usual here. and smoking in public is frowned on pretty hard by locals in colorado. they really want people to keep it private. you can get into pretty big trouble they say. they said to keep acting like we were in texas and be as discrete as possible. like we couldn't smoke in the condos so we had to be outside. the biggest problem is the stuff just reeked so bad. i liked the edibles though. those i could eat anywhere pretty much.
