Spaghetti is pasta. "Noodles" is an English word that usually refers to pasta in a long, string shape. So, spaghetti is pasta, and within pasta, it is also in the subset of noodles.

Do you know if they are independently invented or do they descend from some older recipe?

Indy !KUahHbg6fY replied with this 2 months ago, 1 hour later, 3 hours after the original post[^] [v] #748,995

@previous (C)
Well, noodles were originally invented in China, and then in Italy, and they spread from there through cross-cultural interaction.

Why are your thoughts on Italian pasta in Asian dishes?

Dr Green !BEERiVqJJw (OP) replied with this 2 months ago, 6 minutes later, 17 hours after the original post[^] [v] #749,183

I sprinkle onion salt on my gnocchi. That is some serious salt.

Well, Italian noodles are designed to hold thick sauces, while Asian noodles are designed thinner, to be a part of soup, or to hold a light sauce. To mix the two is a great offense to Nature.

But you can treat spaghetti water with baking soda and replace ramen with it.

Do you not cook batches? It makes eating super cheap you just cook up and freeze lots at once and homecooked food is just a microwave away.
