I've been smoking occasionally since I was 18, now I'm 25 and I've never smoked them regularly over the course of the past 7 years, but now I think I might be getting addicted.

Camel Crush is the pack I have now. I'll also smoke Marlboro Menthol 100s, American Spirit, and Camel Turkish Jades. Also, I used to smoke Djarum Blacks until Obama made them illegal.

I see. Never been much of a fan of menthols although I did go through a camel crush phase. When you smoke those halfway and save them for later they taste absolutely awful. I like Camel Reds but they taste somewhat dry to me. I also used to treat myself to djarum blacks every now and again but not too much anymore since they're difficult to find (although there is a place in the city that still sells them if you ask). I just stick with Marlboro Reds. My absolute favorites are Belmonts, but I can't often find those.

It's my main vice.

I never smoke a cigarette halfway. That's one reason why I smoke Marlboro Menthol 100s and not just Marlboro Menthols. I like the extra length. With Camel Crushes I'll sometimes smoke 2, one right after the other just because it feels like such a short smoke.

> I never smoke a cigarette halfway.
I do sometimes if it's chilly outside and I can't stand the cold, but I try to avoid doing that because it can taste a bit odd once you relight it. And yeah camel crushes are extremely short in length, it's almost a joke.

Why is it that you're smoking more habitually now, though? Stress? That's how I began at least. It calmed me down when I was in situations that were making me anxious, even if it was just momentarily, but then once things in my life started to even out a bit and that stress subsided, I had an extremely difficult time stopping. Now it's a staple in my daily routine.

I started smoking when I was 14. Looking back on it now, Cigarettes were hard as hell to come by sometimes.
I smoke Camel Menthol's with the "Cool Burst" crush in the filter. So its a menthol, within a menthol.

Stress, dieting, trouble with women, hanging out with people who smoke, and smoking a lot of camel crushes because they're so short and I enjoy them so much.

Oh, that and boredom. Particularly at work.

Seriously?

A marijuana high is nice, makes food taste better, music sound better, everything better.

Cigarettes just give you a shitty buzz (common knowledge that cigs don't get people high), are much more addictive (withdraw is a bitch) and can kill you.

Cigarettes do get you high, it's not "shitty" either, its just a different type from a weed high.
Nicotine has a stimulant effect, while THC has a hallucinogenic effect.

Oh and physical addiction doesn't happen from smoking one cigarette.
Try smoking a cigarette while you are baked, it's nice.

> Nicotine has a stimulant effect
A very mild one, people don't get tons done on a cig buzz. Adderal though, is great, you can get a lot done on it. Cleaning the house, and getting all your homework done on it is easy.
> while THC has a hallucinogenic effect.
You aren't going to hallucinate on it unless you smoke a lot and close your eyes, and even then it's not much of a hallucination. I've noticed when most people categorize it they usually use just "cannabinoid" because it's not much of a hallucinogen, stimulant, or depressant, and it has many properties.
> Try smoking a cigarette while you are baked, it's nice.
Hm, might do it.

Broseph !!fxnDb+Ve4 (OP) replied with this 6.3 years ago, 23 minutes later, 7 hours after the original post[^] [v] #68,028

I can't believe no one here has quit smoking. I guess that's either because a) people here tend to be young and probably haven't reached a point in their lives where they want to quit yet and/or b) it shows just how hard quitting is.

I also find it hard to believe that most people either smoke regularly, or have never smoked a single cigarette in their life. This could also be taken as evidence of how addictive cigarettes are, that most people are either completely on them or completely off them. I guess I find this hard to believe because I am one of the few in between.

You're in denial.
You smoke 100's (Superking size), keep your half smoked fags for later and smoke 2 in row? These are the first signs of a chain smoker.
I'm a regular smoker and I only smoke kingsize and never smoke two in a row.
Keeping your half smoked fags for later is disgusting, the smell of smoke of them is horrible.
Personally I would give up alcohol before I gave up cigarettes.

I specifically said that I don't keep half-smoked cigarettes for later. You're confusing me with another poster. I rarely smoke more than 2 a day, and I've probably smoked less than a carton in my lifetime, and remember, that's over a course of seven years. I only smoke one right after the other when I smoke Crushes, because they're so short it's a joke, as another poster pointed out. I can, and do, go for months without smoking. I don't have an addictive personality and I'm far from a chain smoker. I smoke 100s because when I do smoke, I want it to last, and I like the fact that the filters on 100s are longer as well.

If I were as bad as you make it sound, I wouldn't be able to run 6 miles a day like I do now.

> How may Minichanner smoke cigarettes?
By acquiring tabacco in a smokeable form rolled into a thin piece of paper, whcih is subsequently set alight with a match or a lighter.

> people don't get tons done on a cig buzz.
> You aren't going to hallucinate on [THC] unless you smoke a lot and close your eyes, and even then it's not much of a hallucination.

You are only thinking of part of the effect these drugs can have. Stimulants don't just make you clean your house like a spazz and hallucinogens don't cause only visual hallucinations. The effects are much more complex then you are giving these drugs credit for.

You've never gotten really really high and smelled cookies baking, but you aren't baking cookies? Heard music playing, but theres no radio on? Felt something touch you, but there's nothing there?
Hallucinations.

I could have said "psychotropic effect" or "psychedelic effect" instead, but i am not incorrect in calling THC a hallucinogenic drug.

@68,028 (Broseph !!fxnDb+Ve4)
I've quit smoking for years at a time before, but i currently smoke. There was no option for that.
I am so good at quitting, that I can quit quitting and then quit quitting quitting. Anytime i want.
Who're you callin' an addict, bud?! :p

Also, halfies smell horrible even to smokers, so imagine what they must smell like to non smokers.
Either smoke the whole cigarette or just put it out and toss it.

Yes, taxes on them have constantly gone up over the years. Especially since Obama became president.

I don't particularly mind the taxes though, as prices didn't go up nearly as much as they said they would, mainly because the tobacco companies absorb most of those taxes by lowering their prices to keep them at a price where people will still buy them. So, the big tobacco companies are actually getting taxed more than the consumer.
