Are you saying that Obama personally ordered and oversaw all of these drone strikes?

Also some are 18 and 19. Please remove them from the list. Thanks.

In Pakistan and Yemen, people under 21 are considered children.

Never mind.
Besides, only 4 are 19, and only 3 are 18.

Anonymous B replied with this 1.9 year ago, 2 minutes later, 12 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,850

@previous
So did Obama personally order all of these drone strikes and oversee them?

Because personally I would, funnily enough, blame the military who carried the strikes out.

Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 1.9 year ago, 4 minutes later, 16 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,852

@previous
He is the highest-ranking official in the military. Even if he didn't carry out these orders, he didn't do anything to crack down on child killings.

Anonymous B replied with this 1.9 year ago, 3 minutes later, 19 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,854

@previous
Right, if Obama personally oversaw all drone strikes then mistakes of an kind in these operations would cease, and all children would cease to be involved with insurgents.

@386,846
Yeah, once they turn 18 it's OK to declare they were combatants after they're killed. Everyone knows they turn into terrorists as soon as they turn 18.

Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 1.9 year ago, 59 seconds later, 22 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,856

@386,854
He didn't oversee them, but he did order them. Big mistake on his part.

Anonymous C replied with this 1.9 year ago, 3 minutes later, 25 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,857

@386,854
So after they're killed in a drone strike, it's OK to assume that they were involved with insurgents. In other words, it's impossible for the administration to make mistakes. They claim that these are precise, highly intelligent attacks, so all of these children must be insurgents or people who will become insurgents. And even though there has been no declaration of war in Pakistan or Yemen, and these attacks only occur because of direct executive orders from the President (which could easily be considered over-reaching and unconstitutional), the President isn't responsible for the executive orders he issues, because shit rolls downhill in the military so that Obama is never directly responsible. Thanks for your insight in this matter.

Anonymous B replied with this 1.9 year ago, 2 minutes later, 28 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,858

@386,855
Obviously, because we know the exact circumstances of all of those deaths. There are never any mistakes made in war and those 18 years olds couldn't have been doing anything to provoke the military.

@386,856
I'm sure that he didn't intend for any children or non-combatants to be killed. But war is never that clean-cut.

My main point got away from me a little. I don't particularly agree with the US still being so involved in Muslim land. My issue is with your headline and the source's headline, which is sensationalist rabble-rousing against Obama.

Anonymous C replied with this 1.9 year ago, 11 minutes later, 48 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,862

@previous
Actually, his headline is just a description of exactly what the list is. Nothing sensationalist about it. He doesn't use the words "murdered", "targeted", or "innocent" or anything like that. These are people under 21 killed by drone strikes that Obama did order even if he didn't oversee them.

Anonymous B replied with this 1.9 year ago, 5 minutes later, 53 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #386,863

An accurate, unbiased headline would blame the military that carried out the strikes. As it is, it reads as if Obama was directly responsible for the deaths of the children.

@386,863
There was never a legal declaration of war in either of those countries. The only reason those drone strikes are being carried out are because of his executive orders. This isn't soldiers on a battle field accidentally killing a child on a mission that came from a general who gave orders not related to the President. The President orders these strikes directly, and even if he weren't, as commander in chief he has the authority to stop them.

Anonymous F double-posted this 1.9 year ago, 8 minutes later, 3 hours after the original post[^] [v] #386,885

@386,866
Of course not. No one is saying that they are intentionally killing children, but they are using the drones recklessly in a way that does. They claim that these are precision attacks based on advanced intel and that they wait til the target is isolated blah blah blah but that's clearly bullshit. You would think that all the children being killed would make the President step back and say "well clearly the intel is not as good as we thought, so maybe we should back off?" And then there are also the innocent adult males that are killed. It's the administration's policy to assume (after the fact that they've been killed) that any adult males over 18 are legal combatants, even if they have absolutely no evidence that he was an insurgent or target! They kill them and then claim that they're guilty until proven innocent.

This isn't Obama telling the military "go get em and use your best judgement" and people below the President fucking up. This is the President getting intel from the CIA and then telling the CIA where to drone strike based on that intel. This is how he's getting away with this shit without a declaration of war and it's unconstitutional and overreaching.

Reagan used the CIA to take similar actions and when people found out there was a huge scandal, Oliver North took the blame, and liberal still string up Reagan for that shit. Obama does the same shit and then some, is blatantly doing the shit Reagan did right out in the open but no one gives a fuck, especially not the liberals who support him. They hate Bush and Reagan, but combine the worst policies of both to get Obama and liberals love him. Go figure.

> ok....rememeber Katrina? hordes of thugs ruled the New Orleans area for a while after everything fell apart.....
That is... not true.. That was a Foxxx news lie and it got people killed. Instead of hordes of thugs, it was actually thousands of displaced poor who were unable to evacuate. sure, most of them were black, and some of them even looted, but none of them had anything with which to survive. And, i'm sorry, after an event like Katrina, people can go fuck themselves if they think scavenging to survive is the same as looting hordes of thugs. go fuck yourself.

Are you so stupid to think that the criminal element of New Orleans didn't evacuate so they could run the Thunder Dome for the 3 weeks the city was unapproachable? bullshit. It was poor black people. that's all.

> local law enforcement could not even barely safegard or deliver any sort of adequate aid to the remaining citizens............
Actually they were able to "safeguard" it just fine, i don't know what the fuck you're on about.
Now you're right, getting it to the people was almost impossible. The city was almost completely flooded, mind you. My brother went to New Orleans with Atmos energy as a first responder. He ended up fishing bodies out of the water with hooks. You couldn't even get them on the boat, you just hooked them and dragged them back beside the boat like a swordfish until you could glop them into body bags.

For real, bro, those poor bastards left behind were completely fucked. they weren't looters, they weren't criminals, they were simply the people society hides in ghettos and under bridges to forget about.

lol...u mad bro? I am not talking about race at all.....just what happened when the system broke down..

looting to survive and looting for profit is the SAME....in terms of the damage done and the loss for those whose property is looted........is it not??!

now.....like I said....imagine a scenario (entirely possible btw) where something terrible happens and there are a thousand times as many "displaced poor" who are "unable to evacuate" and "none of them had anything with which to survive" what do you think will happen??

mass chaos...is what would entail.......this is a valid concern.....and yet your response is to say it is OK for the masses of panic stricken citizens to loot and take what they feel like they need.

you need to grow up and get a clue son..

stealing bread and water to survive is not the same as stealing property to sell and make a living off of. so no, they aren't the same ethically or morally. but, you seem to have missed my point, there were no roving bands of looting thugs. That did not happen. you are wrong on your first assumption, thus making any further argument based on that assumption equally wrong.

> now.....like I said....imagine a scenario (entirely possible btw) where something terrible happens and there are a thousand times as many "displaced poor" who are "unable to evacuate" and "none of them had anything with which to survive" what do you think will happen??

Fox news will immediately begin reporting that roving hordes of black thugs are looting and murdering

> mass chaos...is what would entail.......this is a valid concern.....and yet your response is to say it is OK for the masses of panic stricken citizens to loot and take what they feel like they need.
yep, in the event of a disaster of this scale, take what you need and try to help others. What do you want them to do, not take food and water that can save lives? Oh, you're worried about all the insured electronics at Best Buy you don't want niggers stealing. Don't worry, it won't work anyway and insurance isn't going to fix it, it's going to trash and pay to replace it.

i just don't know what it is you think people were doing after Katrina. I spent 6 hours there after driving down a van full of bottled water. My brother stayed for 3 weeks. How long were you there? Do you have any kind of first hand experience with disasters of this scale?

didn't think so. You're talking out your ass, boy. you don't know the first thing about what people in New Orleans were doing after Katrina. I'll tell you what, they certainly weren't worried about looting more possessions, seeing as how no one had a house to keep anything. Not to mention that everything was destroyed. What were they looting, bert?

Food. water. clothes.

> you need to grow up and get a clue son...

i would also cite all of the other dozens of large scale natural disaters, such as the 2004 tsunami and the recent tsunami in japan that also damaged nuclear reactors, and how people did not descend into mass chaos and pandemonium. People reached out to each other and helped their neighbors and millions more contributed and even offered actual support. Your idea that people don't do this is wrong and not supported by any evidence gathered from any disaster of this scale.

when disaster and tragedy strike people are often times at their very best.

The OP raises a good point. If the lives of all children are equally valuable, then surely the life of an Afghan child should be mourned just as deeply by the nation as the deaths of the children in the Sandy Hook shooting. What's worrying to me is that the parents, siblings and relatives of these children aren't going to be very friendly to the US and I wouldn't be surprised if a few of them signed up for Al Qaeda to avenge their loved ones. The government doesn't even make an apology either, just "whoops, my bad lol".
